Marisa Wood - Response to the Emerson Poll on Voter Confidence in the 20th Congressional District

Bakersfield, CA -  Today, Marisa Wood, the Democratic candidate seeking election to Congress in CD 20, responded with optimism to the Emerson Poll on Voter Confidence in the 20th Congressional District.

It's essential to address the hesitancy some constituents may have voting for a Democrat in this district. Marisa wants all voters to know that she is first a proud American who will stand and defend the Constitution of the United States of America. 

Marisa wants people to know that she understands the diverse thinking of those polled and shares the values and concerns expressed therein. A few things the voters polled  may not know about Marisa– she has been happily married to a Republican for 38 years; Bakersfield has been her home for 38 years; she and John are both responsible gun owners; many of their closest friends are Republicans; being married to a farmer has meant she knows first hand the economic impact of agriculture in the district.

Marisa shares voters' concerns about the critical issues affecting the community. Moreover, she recognizes the importance of finding bipartisan solutions that align with the nation's values, particularly when it comes to immigration. Immigration policy solutions include:

• Increased border security through technology and infrastructure. 
• A well-funded immigration program is urged to efficiently process asylum cases, involving increased judges, lawyers, and support staff. 
• Fortifying ports of entry and ensure that we build capacity for asylum seekers as the needs arise
• Visa programs, and paths to legal status including pathway to citizenship for long-term undocumented residents, acknowledging their contributions.

It's crucial to emphasize that Marisa believes in bridging the political divide in order to address and build sustainable solutions. The focus should be on collaborative efforts that prioritize the well-being of the district's residents over partisan differences.

Marisa’s campaign is continually monitoring public sentiment and we value the feedback and opinions of the residents in the 20th Congressional District.
